Windows 10 - Can't see bottom of screens (e.g. "Mark", "Exit", "Next" buttons)

This can happen after updating from Windows 7/8 to Windows 10.

First check that the screen resolution is at least 768 pixels vertically:

  1. Open Windows 10 Control Panel using one of the following methods:
    • Right-click on the Windows "Start" button (lower left corner of the desktop) and select "Control Panel" from the menu that appears.
    • Press the "Windows" and "X" keys at the same time and select "Control Panel" from the menu that appears.
The "Windows" key is usually in the lower left corner of your keyboard, between "Ctrl" and "Alt" and usually shows a Windows logo.
  2. Click the "Appearance and Personalisation" heading.
  3. Click the "Display" heading.
  4. Click "Adjust resolution" in the left hand column.
  5. Check the resolution and change it if not already at least 768 pixels vertically (the second of the two values).
  6. Click the "OK" button.
  7. Close just opened Windows.
  8. Restart Windows if necessary.

It still won't show, what next?

If you still find that you can't see the bottom of some screens when running the Driving Test Success software, make sure that the screen scaling is set to 100% (if it is already set to 100%, change it to 125%, restart Windows, change it to 100% and restart Windows again - sometimes Windows doesn't apply the 100% scaling unless you change it to something else and then back again):

  4. Click the "set a custom scaling level" text within the paragraph of text headed "Change size of items".
  5. If the value displayed is already "100%", select "125%" and then click the "OK" button.
If the value displayed is "125%", select "100%" and then click the "OK" button.
  6. Click the "Apply" button.
  7. Restart Windows, even if not prompted to do so.
  8. If you haven't just selected and applied 100%, repeat this process again to select "100%".
